pet healthcare records, clare valley veterinary servicesPassports for pet healthcare

Paris or Provence may not be your pet’s next holiday destination, but they’ll soon receive what looks very much like a pet passport. They’re actually our new Pet Healthcare Record booklets, which replace the current vaccination cards.

Designed for cats and dogs, the booklet is your pet’s medical journal for their entire lifetime, with space to record details about vaccinations, annual pet health examinations, parasite prevention programs, surgical history and desexing. It also includes handy information about vaccination and osteoarthritis.

The booklets will go to all new pet owners, as well as current clients when their pet’s card runs out.

It's on again...Pre-school for puppies
Call (08) 8842 2822 to start socialising your puppy

The next gorgeous group of puppies started our Puppy Pre-School  with veterinary nurse Kaeli Mengersen on March 28. Our pre-school:

  • Involves 4 x one-hour sessions over four weeks and costs $50 for the entire course.
  • Is held on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 pm in the clinic.
  • Is open to vaccinated pups aged between 10 and 16 weeks.
  • Provides advice and practical demonstrations on puppy behaviour, toilet training, feeding, basic commands and responsible dog ownership.

Participants receive a bound booklet full of information and training tips, as well as a goody bag full of samples, treats and toys. If you have a new puppy, make sure you book in to for our next class.

CVVS also recommends K9 Connections, a volunteer-run dog training club, which is a terrfic follow up to our Puppy Pre-School. The club holds trainings each Sunday morning from 10 am at the Clare Showgrounds. Call Christine or Adrian Green on 8842 2074 or email pennine@rbe.net.au.

Oh, the places vets go!

We’re following the movements of our veterinary staff, who have been out and about in the past few months.
  • In February, Dr. Jazz Vincent attended an Equine Dental Course at Roseworthy. Jazz has shared her updated skills and knowledge with Louise and Monique, allowing our veterinary team to provide all-round care for horses in our region.
  • The ‘eyes’ have it too, with Louise attending an ophthamology course at the University of Queensland on March 2 and 3. It covered everything from eyelid repair to Ocular emergencies for cats, dogs and horses.
  • They also played an important role at the Clare Rodeo on March 24, providing the veterinary services and ensuring appropriate animal welfare.
