Liz was the first nurse employed at Clare Valley vets. She has 14 years veterinary nursing experience, having completed her qualifications in 1997 and is a great support to all staff.
Outside of clinic hours Liz runs a very successful cupcake business with her daughter. We are often treated to Liz's fabulous cupcakes for morning tea - usually on the run!
Liz also has a beautiful house and garden which she spends many hours tending with her partner Rolly.
After losing my old cat to kidney disease some time ago, I wasn’t sure I was ready for a new pet. However I couldn’t resist taking Macey (pictured below) home, after she came into the clinic as astray. She is now a chubby and cheeky 2 year-old who has made my family complete.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
I think I would be a cat. They definitely “live the life”, basking in the sunshine all day, a warm and cuddly bed at night, with lots of love and cuddles and special food always at the ready.
If you had an extra 5 hours every week, how would you use it?
I would use the extra time to expand my cupcake business and spend more special time with my four grandchildren: Amy, Lucas, Isabella and Edwina.
One thing on your bucket list...
After spending a month in Thailand last year, I would definitely like to travel more. Vietnam and Hong Kong are on my ‘must visit’ list, plus I’d love to go on many more camping trips with my grandchildren. It’s great fun.
What do you love most about living in the Clare Valley?
I love the beautiful summers, crisp frosty winters with misty mornings and I especially love the autumn leaves. Breakfasting out often is a treat and of course there are lots of lovely wines to taste.
