Tammi Klaebe is one of the newest additions to our team, having recently completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She works four days a week in the Clare clinic and is set to run Puppy School. She loves all animals, but has a soft spot for cats and even gets told she looks like one! Tammi has already formed a strong bond with Daphne, our adopted clinic cat (in fact, she’s Daphne’s favourite!)
First pet... I always had two cats growing up, but my very first were Kiwi, a black and white domestic long hair and Cheddy, a ginger tabby.
Your most surprising animal encounter…I was lucky enough to swim with dolphins. It was an amazing experience having the dolphins swim next to and underneath me and listening to them talk.
What animal would you choose to be? A cat. I get told I look like a cat all the time and I couldn’t think of anything better to do than sleep for most of the day.
What’s the best part of your job? Seeing different things everyday. Not one day is the same.
Tell us one thing on your bucket list... I would love to go to South Africa and volunteer with the animals over there.
Tell us about your menagerie...I currently own a Siamese named Cadbury who we adopted after he rocked up on our door step and never left. We found the owners but they were happy to leave him with us as he made himself at home. I have two other cats; 20-year-old Navan and 1-year-old Meeko, as well as a turtle named Slappy. They all live back at home with my parents.
Your top tip for pet owners...
Start training them as early as possible and always make sure they know who is boss.
